This is different, [Jaime says sourly, but only because he's still feeling sulky and contrary, and it's a lot safer to be a kid around Booster than it is around Hal - or around Wally, who had already stuck his neck out for him. He's not thinking clearly enough to feel bad about his hand in making Hal and Wally's relationship get - hopefully temporarily - blown to pieces, but he will later.
He doesn't want to admit that a big reason why Hal gets to him so much is that he's worried that one day, somehow, Hal will be right. It's easier to get mad about being punched.
